DIVERSITY IN BLOCKCHAIN, INC. PARTNERS WITH BLOCKCHAIN FOR IMPACT TO LEAD BEST PRACTICES FOR DIVERSITY IN THE INDUSTRY

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, May 31, 2018 - Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. is announcing its partnership with Blockchain for Impact to lead best practices for diversity in the blockchain industry. Blockchain for Impact is a community initiative of the Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development, a multisectoral framework supporting the United Nations system, along with Member States, Intergovernmental Organizations, the private sector, and civil society.  Diversity in Blockchain will participate in the June 4th Blockchain for Impact Global Summit at the United Nations.

Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. and Blockchain for Impact will work together on impact-oriented events including summits, subcommittee formations and curated content tracks to ensure the context of diversity is established in the industry across the board.  “We are thrilled to be joining forces with Blockchain for Impact” said Susan Joseph, Executive Director of Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. “We believe that in order to find the best solutions for the many issues facing global humanity today it is essential to incorporate all perspectives. Through our partnership, we look forward to connecting diverse individuals and future leaders to blockchain initiatives that will change the world for the better.”

In December of 2018, Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. will host the first ever Blockchain Diversity Awards. At the event, it will honor trailblazers from varying backgrounds and celebrate industry pioneers who are both instrumental in creating inclusive opportunities for diverse representation in emerging technology, as well as those who are on their way to doing so. 

Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. was incubated in MIT’s Legal Forum in conjunction with the MIT Media Lab in Q1 of 2018. The organization was founded by Anna Ashurov (Vice President, Goldman Sachs), Michelle Gitlitz (Blank Rome LLP, Co-Chair of Blockchain & Digital Currencies Group), Shawnna Hoffman (IBM Global Cognitive Legal Co-Leader, Watson AI & Quantum Computing), Susan Joseph (B3i North American Representative, Blockchain Expert Consultant), Joshua Ashley Klayman Kuzar (Co-Chair of Blockchain Practice, Morrison & Foerster LLP), and Susan Poole (Blockchain Founder, Advisor & Consultant).

Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. is a non-profit organization currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status.
